What is voice?
Voice is the form of a verb which is used to indicate whether the subject of the verb performs or receives the action.
How many types of voice?
There are two types of voice
1- Active voice
2- Passive voice
What is Active voice?
The sentence in which the subject is actively performing the action of the verb. This type of sentence is in active voice.
Ex:- Kabita plays ludo
What is Passive voice?
The sentence in which the subject receive the action of the verb. This type of sentence is in passive voice. In this type of sentence, object becomes subject.
Ex:- Ludo is played by Kabita.
Rules to change the active voice into passive voice.
To change active voice into passive voice, We can follow the following steps.
step1- Object of active voice becomes the subject of passive voice.
step 2- Helping verb will be changed according to tense.
step 3 - Always use past participal form of verb.
step 4- always use 'by' after main verb.
Step 5- Subject of active voice becomes the object of passive voice.

Where is preposition 'by' used
'by' is used in passive voice when the given verb in active voice is performed by us.
Ex:- He will teach her english.
She will be taught English by him.
I will complete my work in time.
My work will be completed by me in time.
Where is preposition 'by' not used
'by' is not used in passive voice when the given verb in active voice shows state of mind or feeling. In those cases we use some other prepositions like ' to, with, in , at '
Use of to
'To' is used with some specific verbs like
know - जानना
oblige - आभारी होना
marry - शादी करना
related - जुड़ा हुआ
addicted - वशीभूत , आदी
accustomed - परिचित
opposed -विरोध करना
Ex:- Every one knows Maharana Pratap.
Maharana Pratap is known to every one.
Use of 'in'
'In' is used with some specific verbs like
contain - रखना
interest - रूचि उत्पन्न करना
engulfed -निगल लेना
embodied - सम्मिलित करना
Ex:- This book has interested me very much.
I have been interested in this book very much.
This bag contains many books.
Many books is contained in this bag.
Use of 'With'
'In' is used with some specific verbs like
pleased
charmed
satisfied
disgusted
lined
decorated
associated
filled
annoyed ('annoyed with' is used when the object of passive voice is a person)
crammed
Ex- My answer didnot satisfy him.
He was not satisfied with my answer.
Mahesh annoyed Suresh very badly.
Suresh was annoyed with Mahesh very badly.
Use of 'at'
'In' is used with some specific verbs like
disappointed
displeased
distressed
astonished
surprised ('surprised at' का प्रयोग उम्मीद से ख़राब रिजल्ट होने पर किया जाता है )
surprised ('surprised by' का प्रयोग उम्मीद से अच्छा रिजल्ट होने पर किया जाता है)
laughed
alarmed
amazed
startled
annoyed ('annoyed at ' is used when the object of passive voice is a matter or thing)
Ex:- His behaviour annoyed me.
I was annoyed at his behaviour.
His behaviour surprised everyone
Everyone was surprised at his behaviour.
His result surprised me.
I was surprised by his result.
Use of 'of'
'of' is used with some specific verbs like
scared - डर
terrified - भयभीत
made - बना
convinced - कायल
compose - बनाना
