What is Adjective?

An adjective is a word that describes the quality of noun or pronoun.

Example:- tall, big, wise, blue, good, beautiful, five etc.

How many types of use of adjective?

There are two types of use of use of Adjective.

1- Attributive use of adjective

2- Predicative use of adjective


What is attributive use of adjective?

When an adjective comes before a noun or pronoun in a sentence then it is called attributive use of adjective

Example:- 

She is a tall girl.

It is a big building.

He is a wise man.

I have a blue pen.


What is predicative use of adjective?

When an adjective comes after a noun or pronoun in a sentence then it is called predicative use of adjective

Example:- 

kabita is beautiful.

It is cold.

You are young.

Women are wise.



How many types of adjective?

There are eight types of adjective

1- Adjective of quality (descriptive adjective)

2- Adjective of quantity

3- Adjective of number

4- Demonstrative adjective

5- Interrogative adjective

6- Distributive adjective

7- Proper adjective

8- Possessive adjective



What is Adjective of quality?

An adjective which is used to express the size, shape, colour and other qualities of a noun is called adjective of quality.

Example:- rich, brave, fat, triangular, red

๐Ÿš€ It answers the question- " What kind"


๐Ÿš€ It is not measured by any unit.


What kind - เค•िเคธ เคช्เคฐเค•ाเคฐ เค•ा 


Example:-

 He is a rich man. 

They are brave soldiers.

Elephant is fat.

I have a blue pen.

 
๐Ÿš€ The is an adjective of quality that is used as article in a sentence.

 Example:-

This is the boy who stole my pen.

This is the book which i lost yesterday. 


What is Adjective of quantity?

An adjective which shows the quantity of noun or pronoun is called Adjective of quantity.
๐Ÿš€ It answers the questions- " How much"


๐Ÿš€ It is used with uncountable noun.


Example:- any, enough, little, much, whole

1- Is there any water in the glass.

2- They have enough money.

3- There is little milk in the glass.

4- I do not have much money.

5- we spent our whole summer at the lake. 


What is Adjective of Number?

An adjective that is used to show the number or position of a noun is called adjective of number
๐Ÿš€ It answers the questions- " How many"


๐Ÿš€ It is used with countable noun.


Example:- all, most, many, several, one, two, first, second etc.

1- All children are playing in the fiels.

2- most trees are green.

3- I have many cows.

4- Several students wear uniform.

5- They have five pens.

6- He got first rank in his class.


What is Demonstrative Adjective?

An adjective that is used to indicate specific persons or things is called demonstrative adjective.
๐Ÿš€ Demonstrative adjectives are used to point out noun.

๐Ÿš€ They tell us , "Where the object is located".

๐Ÿš€ They tell us , "How many objects are there".

Ex:- this, that, these, those, such, yonder



Example:- all, most, many, several, one, two, first, second etc.
